Eggplant

Eggplant is a vegetable crop that grows from Eggplant Seeds in 5 days and then continues to produce one Eggplant every 5 days after it matures. It is a repeat-harvest crop, so a single plant can keep yielding produce throughout the season as long as it remains alive and in season.

When harvested, each Eggplant bush gives 1 Eggplant, with a 0.2% chance to produce more than one. Its growth schedule is 1 day each for stages 1 through 5, followed by a harvestable stage with 5 days of regrowth. This makes Eggplant a steady but modest source of produce rather than a high-volume cash crop.

Eggplant has several small but useful applications outside shipping. It can be used in the Sewing Machine with Cloth to create a dyeable clothing item, and it also works as a purple dye ingredient when placed in the Sewing Machine with a dyeable clothing item in the feed. It can additionally be placed in the purple dye pot at Emily's and Haley's house for dyeing.

Eggplant may also be requested during Fall on the Help Wanted board outside Stone's General Store, where fulfilling the request awards gold and friendship points. It can also contribute to bundle completion, and five gold-quality Eggplants may be used for one of the game's requests for quality crops.

• Because it regrows after maturity, Eggplant is best treated as a long-term planting rather than a one-and-done harvest.
• The low chance of extra produce is minor, so its value mainly comes from repeat harvests and utility uses.
• Its dye use makes it worth saving at least one high-quality or spare Eggplant if you care about tailoring or color choices.
• Since it is a Fall crop, it should be planted early enough in the season to allow time for multiple harvests before winter.
