Cactus Fruit

Cactus Fruit is a crop grown in the Desert. It takes 12 days to mature from planting to harvest, with a growth pattern of five stages: 2 days, 2 days, 2 days, 3 days, and 3 days. After the first harvest, it regrows every 3 days, making it a renewable source once established.

It has several uses outside of simple selling. Cactus Fruit is one of the options for the Artisan Bundle, and it may also appear as an option for the Chef's Bundle. It is used in the construction of the Desert Obelisk, which is purchased from the Wizard's Tower. Cactus Fruit is not used in any recipes.

In tailoring, Cactus Fruit can be combined with Cloth in the Sewing Machine to create a dyeable 80's Shirt. It also works as a green dye item: placing it in the Sewing Machine with a dyeable clothing item will apply green dye, and it can be placed in the green dye pot at Emily and Haley's house for dyeing.

Cactus Fruit is also useful for quest and fish pond progression:

• It may be randomly requested on the Help Wanted board after the player has completed the Vault Bundles, rewarding gold and 150 Friendship points.
• A fish pond quest from Sandfish or Scorpion Carp may request 3 Cactus Fruit to increase the pond's capacity from 3 to 5.

Because it regrows, Cactus Fruit is one of the more practical desert crops to keep on hand if you want a steady supply for bundles, tailoring, or quest requests.
