Cauliflower

Cauliflower is a spring crop that can be grown from Cauliflower Seeds. It matures over 12 days in five growth stages, taking 1, 2, 4, 4, and 1 day respectively before harvest. Like other large crops, Cauliflower can become a Giant Crop if planted in a 3×3 square and left unharvested after maturity.

It has several uses beyond selling as produce. Cauliflower is used in a Community Center bundle, and five gold-quality Cauliflower may also be required for another bundle option. It is also used in tailoring: placing Cauliflower in the spool of the Sewing Machine with Cloth creates a dyeable clothing item, and when used with a dyeable clothing item in the feed, it serves as a white dye.

Cauliflower can also be useful for quests. Jodi requests a fresh Cauliflower by mail on Spring 19 for “Jodi’s Request,” and Cauliflower may also be randomly requested on the Help Wanted board outside Pierre’s General Store during spring.

Because it can form a Giant Crop, Cauliflower is worth planting in a 3×3 block if you can spare the space. Once the crop reaches maturity, leave the full grid unharvested and check back later for a chance at a giant harvest. This is especially convenient if you are growing large amounts of spring produce and can afford to dedicate a patch of land to the attempt.
