Deluxe Scarecrow

The Deluxe Scarecrow is a craftable scarecrow that protects crops from crows, just like a normal scarecrow but with a much larger coverage area. It becomes available only after the player has collected all 8 rarecrows. Once that requirement is met, the Z.C. Rarecrow Society begins sending a letter that contains the recipe, with a 90.5% chance each night until it arrives.

Compared with the standard scarecrow’s radius of 8, the Deluxe Scarecrow has a radius of 16, covering a total of 888 tiles. This makes it especially useful for large fields, since a single scarecrow can protect a much wider planting area and reduce the number of scarecrows needed overall.

• The recipe is delivered by mail after all 8 rarecrows have been collected.
• Because the letter can take multiple nights to arrive, there may be a short delay before the recipe appears in the mailbox.

In practice, the Deluxe Scarecrow is most efficient when placed so its expanded radius overlaps as much of the planting area as possible. For farms with dense crop fields, it can greatly simplify protection by reducing the need to place several normal scarecrows. Since the item is unlocked only after completing the rarecrow collection, it is usually a late-mid to late-game crafting option for players who have already explored a large portion of the game’s collection and mail reward systems.
