A rare and powerful candy infused with the essence of the prismatic shard.

Overview

Magic Rock Candy is a special edible item with some of the broadest availability among rare foods, but it remains difficult to obtain because most sources are tied to low odds, special vendors, or late-game rewards. It can appear as a drop from Haunted Skulls, be found in Mystery Boxes and Golden Mystery Boxes, or be bought from several unique shops and festival vendors. It is also obtainable as a museum reward and from the prize machine in Lewis’s manor.

Ways to obtain Magic Rock Candy include:

  • Dropped by Haunted Skulls at a very low rate.
  • Opened from Mystery Boxes or Golden Mystery Boxes.
  • Purchased once per Thursday from the Desert Trader for 3 Prismatic Shards.
  • Purchased from the Raccoon Wife's Shop for 20 Golden Mystery Boxes after completing the 6th Raccoon family request and claiming Foraging Mastery.
  • Received as a reward for donating 90 items to the Museum.
  • Received as the 22nd prize from the prize machine in Lewis’s manor.
  • Sold by the Calico Egg Merchant on the last day of the Desert Festival for Calico Eggs.
  • Sold by Jas at the Desert Festival when she is running a shop there, also for Calico Eggs.
  • Earned by submitting an Egg Rating of 55–999 to Gil during the Desert Festival.

Despite being an edible item, Magic Rock Candy is not used in any bundles and is not used in any quests. Its main practical non-food use is in tailoring: placing it in the Sewing Machine produces the prismatic Magic Sprinkle Shirt. This makes it one of the more unusual ingredients for clothing crafting, since its item category and in-game behavior do not line up neatly with its presentation as a candy.

A few gameplay notes are worth keeping in mind:

  • Magic Rock Candy cannot be cooked.
  • Its internal data category is Cooking, so after gifting it, it appears on the Cooked Items tab of the Gift Log on the Social tab.
  • Because it is treated as a cooked item internally, it cannot be added to the Luau soup.

As a result, Magic Rock Candy is best thought of as a rare utility food: it is collectible, tradable through special sources, and useful for one tailoring recipe, but it has no bundle or quest role and no normal cooking use.
