Rusty Spoon

The Rusty Spoon is an Artifact that can be found by digging up Artifact Spots in Pelican Town, opening Fishing Treasure Chests, or cracking open Artifact Troves. It can also appear when tilling soil in the Mines or Skull Cavern, and a pet dog with maximum friendship can sometimes gift one. Its base sell price is 25g.

Like other artifacts, donating a Rusty Spoon contributes toward the Museum’s total donation count. Once donated, it no longer has any special museum-specific use beyond completing the collection, so players generally only need extras if they want to save one for other purposes.

A Rusty Spoon is also used on the Sewing Machine as the spool ingredient to make the Rusty Shirt, giving it a small fashion-related use beyond its collection value. In addition, the Raccoon at the Giant Stump may request one Rusty Spoon as part of his fifth request, and it can also be requested in any later request starting with the sixth.

• Found through several low-level exploration and digging methods, so it is usually easiest to obtain while clearing Artifact Spots early in the game.
• Since it is a museum donation item, players who have not yet donated one should usually keep the first copy.
• Extra copies are most useful if the Rusty Shirt or Raccoon requests are relevant, otherwise it is mainly a minor-value artifact with collection use.
