Slime Balls are objects produced by slimes in a
For Slime Balls to appear, the hutch must have at least five slimes and at least one filled water trough. Up to four Slime Balls can spawn per day in a single Slime Hutch, but reaching that maximum requires at least 20 slimes living in the hutch and all four water troughs to be filled. Slime Balls also need enough empty tiles to spawn on, and they cannot appear on crafted flooring. Whether the slimes can physically reach the troughs is irrelevant, so obstacles inside the hutch do not prevent spawning as long as the troughs are filled.
A Slime Ball can be right-clicked to release 10 to 21

- Slime Balls are tied specifically to Slime Hutches and are not produced elsewhere.
- Filling the water troughs is essential; without water, no Slime Balls will spawn.
- To maximize daily output, keep the hutch population high and maintain all four troughs.
- Since crafted flooring blocks spawning, avoid placing it in areas where you want Slime Balls to appear.
On mobile versions of the game, loading a save made in the middle of the day, including an Emergency Save or Backup Save, causes all Slime Hutch water troughs to empty early. As a result, Slime Balls will not spawn the next morning. To avoid this, fill the troughs at the end of the day shortly before going to sleep.
