Dried Mushroom Wrap

Overview

Dried Mushroom Wrap is a preserved food item used in Oxygen Not Included as a dry ration form of the Mushroom Wrap. It is produced and consumed as part of long-term food management: dehydrate Mushroom Wraps to create compact, long-lasting Dried Mushroom Wraps, and rehydrate them later to restore them to edible Mushroom Wraps.

Dried Mushroom Wrap is manufactured in the Dehydrator. The Dehydrator recipe converts 6000 kcal worth of Mushroom Wrap plus 12 kg of Plastic into 6 units of Dried Mushroom Wrap and produces 6 kg of Water as a byproduct. Each unit of Dried Mushroom Wrap can be converted back into a rehydrated Mushroom Wrap using a Rehydrator by combining 1 unit Dried Mushroom Wrap with 1 kg Water.

Dried Mushroom Wrap serves as a space- and mass-efficient way to store calories because the dehydrated form stacks as discrete units that are easier to move and store than equivalent fresh food. Typical uses include preparing rations ahead of long expeditions, storing surplus food during overproduction, and buffering against crop failures.

Practical notes:

  • Production throughput depends on Dehydrator speed and available inputs (Mushroom Wrap and Plastic). Plan plastic supply for dehydration runs.
  • Rehydration requires one Rehydrator and water; ensure water access when planning to convert rations back into edible form.
  • The dehydration process returns water as a byproduct (6 kg water per 6 units produced), which can be reclaimed into your liquid network or stored.
  • Use Dried Mushroom Wrap to smooth out food supply over cycles and mitigate spoilage risk by keeping food in a dehydrated state until needed.
