Overview

Axe Me Anything is an item in Peglin that makes attacks ignore or invert enemy resistances. It was introduced in v0.7.52 and has received notable adjustments in later updates: v0.8.5 fixed interactions so bombs deal full damage to the Super Sapper, and v0.9.25 changed its behavior to turn resistances into weaknesses.

When active, Axe Me Anything causes attacks to deal their full damage to enemies that normally reduce incoming damage due to resistances. In versions where it converts resistances into weaknesses, affected enemies take increased damage instead of reduced damage. The effect applies to all sources of damage that would otherwise be mitigated by resistance, including bombs after the v0.8.5 fix that ensured full bomb damage applies against the Super Sapper.

Practical notes for play:

  • Equip Axe Me Anything against foes with shields or resistance traits to neutralize their damage reduction or to exploit the v0.9.25 behavior and amplify damage.
  • Pairs particularly well with high-damage, single-hit effects (bombs, strong pegs) since those attacks will bypass or reverse resistance penalties.
  • Because its behavior changed across versions, confirm which game version you are running: earlier builds simply prevented damage reduction, while later builds make resistances into vulnerabilities.
  • The item affects damage calculation at the resistance step; other modifiers (critical hits, multipliers from other items or cards) still apply as usual.
