Beckoning Crit

Overview

Each time the player collects [COIN_CRIT] coins (the game value for this relic), a critical strike is triggered. Coins picked up during the map navigation also increment the counter; however, triggering a crit during navigation resets the counter without causing any combat effect. The counter continues from its current value when entering new encounters, allowing players to plan around multi-room coin collection to time crits for tougher enemies or elites.
Practical notes and interactions:
- The relic’s counter is visible at all times while it is adjacent to other relics in the relic bar, making it easy to monitor progress mid-run.
- Because the coin count persists across rooms, deliberate coin collection (or avoidance) can schedule crits for specific fights or waves.
- Coin pickups from shops, map events, and in-combat drops all count toward the relic’s counter as long as they are the coin type the game registers for the effect.
- Crits triggered outside of combat (during navigation) do not apply damage or bonuses but will reset the counter, so avoid unnecessary coin triggers on the map if you want to save the next crit for combat.
- The relic’s visual and thematic design is based on the Maneki-neko (beckoning cat), reflecting its luck-related effect.
