Mahogany Seed

Overview
Mahogany Seed is a tree seed used to grow a Mahogany Tree. When planted and allowed to mature, it becomes one of the game’s hardwood-producing trees, and a tapped Mahogany Tree yields

Mahogany Seeds grow through the standard tree stages, with a mature tree reached at Stage 5 in Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter, and the stump state persisting in all seasons after the tree is cut down. Fertilized Mahogany Seeds have a 60% chance to advance each night, including during Winter, while unfertilized seeds have a 15% chance. In practice, unfertilized Mahogany Trees usually take about 26 ± 12 days to grow, while fertilized ones usually take about 7 ± 2 days.
Mahogany Trees can also appear naturally in The Mines on floors 41–69 when either the Danger in the Deep quest is active or the Shrine of Challenge is toggled on. This makes Mahogany Seed a useful item even beyond cultivation, since it is tied to one of the main renewable hardwood sources in the game.
Other notable uses of Mahogany Seed are limited:
- It is not used in any bundles.
- It is used in the
Sewing Machine spool to create an item.
- It can be used in dyeing as orange dye at the dye pots in
Emily and
Haley’s house.
Because Mahogany Trees provide hardwood, players often plant Mahogany Seeds whenever they want a dependable source of lumber materials.
