Pepper Poppers can be obtained from several sources outside of cooking. The Bookseller trades 2 Pepper Poppers for 1 Stardew Valley Almanac. They may also appear randomly in Krobus’ shop on Saturdays, in the Garbage Can outside the saloon, or in the Stardrop Saloon’s rotating stock. Shane may occasionally send Pepper Poppers in the mail as a gift, and he also sells up to 3 sets of 3 Pepper Poppers at the Desert Festival for Calico Eggs. One can sometimes be purchased at the Stardew Valley Fair, and one may also be found by opening a Mystery Box.

Pepper Poppers are not used in any bundles or quests, so they are not required for community center progress or quest completion. Their practical value comes from their uses as both a food item and a crafting/dye ingredient rather than from progression requirements.

They can be used in tailoring to create the Tunnelers Jersey at the Sewing Machine. They also have dye utility: Pepper Poppers can be used as an orange dye at the dye pots in Emily and Haley’s house, and they can serve as a brown dye when used in the Sewing Machine with a dyeable clothing item in the feed.
