Prehistoric Skull

The Prehistoric Skull is an Artifact that can be found by digging up an Artifact Spot in the Mountains, mining a Bone Node, or defeating a Haunted Skull. A pet dog at maximum friendship can also gift one. Like other artifacts, it can be donated to the Museum, where it counts toward the total number of donations.

Donating the Prehistoric Skull, along with the Prehistoric Scapula and Skeletal Hand, rewards the player with the Sloth Skeleton L statue. It is also one of the bone items that can matter for the special order "Fragments of the past," in which Gunther may request a total of 100 bone items of any combination while the quest is active.

In terms of utility, the Prehistoric Skull has a few practical uses beyond donation:

• It can be processed in the Bone Mill into Quality Fertilizer, Speed-Gro, Deluxe Speed-Gro, or Tree Fertilizer.
• It is not used in any bundles.
• It is not used in any crafting recipes.
• It can be used in tailoring with the Sewing Machine. With Cloth in the feed, it produces a clothing item, and it can also be used as a dye ingredient when combined with a dyeable clothing item.

Because it can be obtained from several different sources, the Prehistoric Skull is easiest to treat as both a museum item and a flexible bone resource. The Mountain artifact spots and Bone Nodes are the most direct consistent sources, while Haunted Skulls provide a combat-based option. If a player is still filling out the Museum, donating the first one is worthwhile, but extra copies can still be useful for fertilizer production or tailoring.
