Rotten Meat

There are maggots crawling in the meat. It smells awful.
Overview

It also has multiple crafting applications in the cauldron, where it can be used to make sausages and turnip stew. In addition, it can be used during wolf taming, making it useful even before better food options are available.
As food, its cooked form restores 2 health every 10 seconds. It also provides a maximum bonus of 30 health and 10 stamina for 1200 seconds. Like other foods in Valheim, eating it replaces any currently active food effects, so timing matters if you want to preserve stronger buffs.
A few practical notes:
- Cook it promptly, since overcooking destroys the item and yields coal instead.
- Use it in the cauldron for progression food such as sausages and turnip stew.
- Keep it in mind as a taming food for wolves.
- If food effects are already active, eating it will overwrite them.
When consumed by itself, it triggers a nausea effect that can be used to clear existing food buffs. During this effect, movement is heavily slowed, health is gradually reduced down to the standard 25 HP, and periodic healing is reduced by 100%. The vomiting state lasts 15 seconds, and any food eaten during that time is wasted without giving its normal benefit.
