Tasty Mead

Tasty mead is a consumable mead base and finished mead that boosts stamina regeneration at the cost of reduced health regeneration. It is one of the simplest utility meads in Valheim, making it useful when a player wants to keep attacking, running, or mining for a short burst without caring about healing during that window.

To make Tasty mead, the mead base is first crafted in a cauldron, then placed in a fermenter. Fermentation takes one and a half in-game days, and each mead base produces 6 meads when finished. The recipe uses:

• Honey x10
• Raspberries x10
• Blueberries x5

When consumed, Tasty mead lasts for 10 seconds and has a 10-second cooldown. During its effect, stamina regeneration is doubled and health regeneration is reduced by half. This makes it a strong short-term recovery tool when stamina matters more than survivability, such as during prolonged combat, sprinting across terrain, or repeated jump-heavy movement.

Because it suppresses health regeneration, Tasty mead is best used when you are not expecting to heal naturally for those few seconds, or when you can avoid taking damage while the effect is active. It is less suited to situations where passive healing is important, since drinking it immediately weakens your ability to recover health over the same period. For that reason, it is generally treated as an emergency stamina booster rather than a general-purpose food or healing aid.

As with all meads, the finished item is only obtained after the base has been fermented, so maintaining a supply requires both a cauldron and a fermenter. Its ingredients are inexpensive compared with many later meads, which makes it accessible early and useful throughout the game whenever a quick stamina spike is more valuable than healing.
