Overview

Thundering Berserkir axes are an enchanted version of the Berserkir Axes. They function as a melee axe weapon with both Slash and Lightning damage, and they add a lightning-based proc effect on top of the normal weapon swing. Like the base axes, they are also a woodcutting tool, but their special lightning effects are not applied to trees.

The weapon has a 25% chance to deal Lightning damage on a hit, and a separate 25% chance to trigger Chain Lightning, which deals 75 additional Lightning damage. After Chain Lightning is triggered, it has an 80% chance to jump to nearby enemies, making the weapon especially strong against grouped foes. Larger packs of enemies take more total damage from the chained strikes and tend to die faster than small isolated targets.

Crafting and upgrading require Berserkir axes, Flametal, and Iolite. Any enchantment made to the base axes resets previous upgrades, so the item starts over from its own upgrade path rather than preserving the old weapon’s progress.

  • Quality 1: 140 Slash, 10 Lightning, 175 Durability
  • Quality 2: 145 Slash, 10 Lightning, 225 Durability
  • Quality 3: 150 Slash, 10 Lightning, 275 Durability
  • Quality 4: 155 Slash, 10 Lightning, 325 Durability

Upgrade costs are:

  • Quality 1: 1 Berserkir axes, 5 Flametal, 1 Iolite
  • Quality 2: 5 Flametal, 1 Iolite
  • Quality 3: 10 Flametal, 2 Iolite
  • Quality 4: 15 Flametal, 3 Iolite

When chopping trees, Thundering Berserkir axes do not deal Lightning damage to the tree itself through either normal hits or Chain Lightning. However, the Chain Lightning effect can still activate while cutting wood and strike nearby enemies, so they remain useful in mixed combat situations where enemies are fighting around trees or other obstacles.
