Inquisitor Crate

The Inquisitor Crate is a heavy, ornamented storage container found in the Praetorium portal world. It functions as a guarded loot cache: it must be unlocked with an Inquisitor's Key before its contents can be taken. Once opened the crate yields a guaranteed set of rare gear and consumables, and because it sits inside a portal instance it respawns each portal reset. The crate itself cannot be created through crafting.

Visually and thematically the Inquisitor Crate is presented as a reinforced transport chest for equipment and supplies. After it has been unlocked and looted, the physical crate may be packaged and reused as a storage unit; when used this way it provides the same inventory capacity and radiation protection as a Hazard Crate.

The crate is found in the final room of the Praetorium, positioned to the left of the NPC IS-0101. Because it resides in a portal world, the crate (and its contents) refreshes every portal world reset, allowing repeatable access to the items it holds for each run.

Typical contents and their drop behavior are as follows:

• Sigil of the Hearth — guaranteed (100%).
• Intermediate Gun Repair Kits — guaranteed to include two; there is a 50% chance to have a third.
• .357 Magnum Ammo — guaranteed three, with a 50% chance to increase to three to five.
• 9mm Ammo — guaranteed eight, with a 50% chance to contain eight to twelve.
• 12g Buckshot — guaranteed five, with a 50% chance to contain five to eight.
• .308 Ammo — guaranteed four, with a 50% chance to contain four to seven.
• Legate Bracers — guaranteed (part of the Legate Armor Set).
• Legate Chestplate — guaranteed (part of the Legate Armor Set).
• Legate Legguards — guaranteed (part of the Legate Armor Set).

Practical notes for players:

• Always bring an Inquisitor's Key before attempting the Praetorium final chamber because the crate cannot be opened otherwise.
• If you need storage or radiation shielding for short-term runs, consider packaging the unlocked crate and using it like a Hazard Crate; this is useful when extracting gear or consolidating supplies.
• The guaranteed pieces of the Legate Armor Set make the Inquisitor Crate the most reliable single-source location for that set within the Praetorium.
• Because the crate respawns with portal resets, prioritize opening it on each run if you aim to farm the listed consumables or the Sigil of the Hearth.
