Overview

The Vombat is a farm animal that can be raised for milk and manure. Players can buy a Vombat joey after obtaining Handling Licence Level 2, and its stock at Irwin’s Barn rotates with the Pleep. A joey takes 5 days to grow into an adult, and Vombats can appear in several color variants, including black, black and white, brown, brown and white, and grey.

Once fully grown, a Vombat sleeps in an Animal Stall and can be fed Animal Food or grass. It produces Milk every day when cared for properly, and its milk quality improves as its hearts increase. When pregnant, it produces double milk. It also produces Vombat Poo daily. Use a Milking Bucket to collect its milk.

Caring for a Vombat follows the same general animal-care rules used for farm animals in Dinkum. To keep it happy and productive, it needs three things: food, shelter, and attention. If all three are provided, its hearts rise faster, which improves product quality. If the Vombat is fed, housed, and kept healthy, it will continue producing; if it goes unfed, it will become unhappy and stop producing, although it does not die from starvation.

  • Feed it once per day with Animal Food from an Animal Feeder, or let it eat a grass tuft.
  • Give it shelter with an Animal Stall; one stall shelters one Vombat, and it does not benefit from other animal shelters.
  • Pet it every day. Stars will appear when the action succeeds. A Guitar can also satisfy this need, and NPCs may occasionally help if they enter the pen through a gate.
  • The Vombat must not be sick, must have a home, and must have been fed the previous day in order to produce or breed.

Vombats can also graze on all types of grass tufts, and when they do, they leave behind a grass seed that can be collected. Because their milk output and quality depend on care and heart level, keeping them fed, sheltered, and petted regularly is the best way to maintain a productive herd. Breeding is also possible with a Vombull, which produces a Vombat joey.
