Conveyor Receptacle

Overview

The Conveyor Receptacle is a terminal storage point placed at the end of a rail. When materials travel along a conveyor rail and reach its final tile, they are deposited into the Conveyor Receptacle, where they become available for Duplicants to pick up and use. It functions as the receiving end of a transport loop: items arriving on rails enter this receptacle rather than continuing past the rail terminus.

Materials placed into a Conveyor Receptacle remain there until retrieved by Duplicants. The receptacle serves as a simple handoff between automated rail transport and manual duplicant labor; items do not disappear or bypass the receptacle once they arrive. Because the receptacle is the point at which transported goods are handed to Duplicants, it is the natural location to stage resources for processing, crafting, or storage elsewhere.

  • Place a Conveyor Receptacle at the logical end of any rail line where Duplicants should collect delivered goods. The receptacle must be positioned at the rail terminus so arriving materials are deposited into it.
  • Items delivered to the receptacle are intended to be accessed and carried away by Duplicants; keep the tile accessible so they can reach the receptacle and haul materials to their intended destinations.
  • Use Conveyor Receptacles to separate automated movement from manual logistics: rails can bring bulk resources to a single pickup point, and Duplicants can then distribute those resources to machines, storage, or construction tasks.
  • Since the receptacle is simply a receiving container, plan nearby storage or processing buildings accordingly so that Duplicants have short paths between pickup and drop-off to reduce hauling time and improve throughput.

The Conveyor Receptacle is strictly a receiving and pickup interface for rail-delivered items and does not itself transport materials onward. It bridges conveyor rail logistics and duplicant-driven workflows by collecting arriving resources and making them available for manual retrieval.
