Bottle Filler

Overview

A Bottle Filler allows Duplicants to manually transport liquids from one place to another. It is a basic logistics building for moving small amounts of fluid without piping, and it is useful whenever a colony needs to relocate liquids before a more permanent delivery system is available.

When a Duplicant uses a Bottle Filler, they fill a bottle from a liquid source and carry it to a destination for manual delivery. This makes the building a simple way to move fluids around the colony, especially in early setups or in situations where the liquid only needs to be brought a short distance. Because it depends on Duplicant labor, it is slower and less efficient than automated liquid transport, but it can still be practical when infrastructure is limited or when a one-time transfer is all that is needed.

Bottle Fillers are mainly used for:

  • moving liquids between separate storage or work areas
  • supplying liquids without building a full piping network
  • bridging the gap before more advanced liquid handling is established

Since the task is manual, the building competes with other Duplicant errands for worker time. In practice, it is best used for small, occasional transfers rather than as a long-term transport solution. It is most valuable in colonies that are still expanding, where laying pipes everywhere would be expensive or unnecessary, or in isolated areas where a quick hand-delivered transfer is enough.

The building’s main advantage is flexibility. It can be placed wherever a colony needs a simple liquid pickup and drop-off point, giving Duplicants a direct way to move fluids without waiting for larger infrastructure. Its main drawback is the same: every transfer requires a worker, so large or repeated liquid movement can become a burden if the colony relies on it too heavily.
