Liquid Pipe Thermo Sensor
Overview
Liquid Pipe Thermo Sensor is an automation building that monitors the temperature of fluid inside a connected Liquid Pipe and disables linked buildings when that fluid reaches a configured temperature. It observes the pipe contents rather than ambient air temperature and provides an automatic cutoff mechanism for systems that must react to fluid temperature thresholds.
The sensor measures the temperature of the liquid or gas flowing through the pipe to which it is attached and, when the measured temperature meets the sensor’s setpoint, it sends a disable signal to the targeted building(s). This behavior allows players to automate safety and process control around temperature-sensitive plumbing: the sensor intervenes only when the pipe contents reach the defined temperature, not based on room temperature or nearby objects.
Practical notes and typical uses:
- Place the Liquid Pipe Thermo Sensor directly on the run of Liquid Pipe whose contents you want to monitor. The sensor specifically reads the pipe’s contents rather than the surrounding atmosphere.
- Use the sensor to automatically stop pumps, valves, heaters, or other pipe-connected equipment when the transported fluid becomes too hot or too cold for downstream systems. This prevents equipment from operating outside desired temperature ranges.
- The sensor issues a disable command when the set threshold is reached; it can be integrated into broader automation networks where buildings must be toggled in response to fluid temperature changes.
- Sensors react to the actual temperature inside the pipe, so placement at points of expected temperature change (inlet/outlet of heat exchangers, after radiators, or before temperature-sensitive machinery) gives reliable control.
- Because the sensor’s trigger condition depends solely on pipe contents, design pipelines and flow so that the measured section represents the fluid state you care about; trapped pockets or mixing points can give misleading readings if you need precise control.
The Liquid Pipe Thermo Sensor is a straightforward yet powerful component for temperature-aware plumbing automation. By disabling buildings when pipe contents hit specified temperatures, it provides a simple safety and control mechanism for complex fluid networks.
