Gas Pipe Thermo Sensor

Overview

The Gas Pipe Thermo Sensor is an automation building that monitors the temperature of the fluid inside a connected gas pipe and automatically disables the controlled structure when that pipe content reaches a configured temperature. It functions as a temperature-triggered automation condition tied to the gas moving through the game's pipe network, allowing players to pause or stop equipment based on the thermal state of the gas flowing in a given segment.

The device observes the temperature of the pipe's contents rather than external ambient temperature, making it suitable for temperature-sensitive gas processing, heat exchange, and safety controls. When the measured temperature meets or exceeds the sensor's setpoint, the sensor sends an automation signal to disable the linked building(s); when the temperature falls below the setpoint, the sensor allows the building(s) to operate again. This behavior applies to the contents of the pipe segment the sensor samples.

  • The sensor triggers based on the temperature of the pipe contents; it does not directly measure room or tile temperature.
  • It disables buildings by changing their automation state when the sampled gas temperature crosses the configured threshold.
  • Use the sensor to protect equipment from overheating, to control heat-sensitive reactions or storage, and to automate heat-management systems where gas temperature is the controlling factor.
  • Placement should be on or configured to read from the gas pipe segment whose contents you want to monitor; the sensor acts on the content inside that pipe segment.
  • The sensor is a deterministic automation component: its output is a binary enable/disable based solely on the temperature comparison against its setpoint.

Do not assume additional behaviors (such as cooling or heating) beyond sending enable/disable automation signals based on the pipe contents' temperature.
