Drillcone

Drillcone is a building used to create drilled-out resources, but those resources are not collected automatically. To gather them, the system requires a storage module.

Its main practical implication is that a Drillcone is not a complete standalone setup: if you place one without the appropriate storage support, the produced resources will remain uncollected. Because of this, a Drillcone should be planned as part of a larger extraction chain rather than as a single machine.
