Oxygen Mask Station

Overview

The Oxygen Mask Station is a building used to service worn Oxygen Masks. It is built from 50 kg of Copper Ore, Aluminum Ore, Cobalt Ore, or Iron Ore, and consumes 1 Worn Oxygen Mask to create it. Once placed, it provides a point where masks can be filled with oxygen for use by Duplicants who need respiratory protection.

Its key function is that Duplicants cannot pass by the station if there is not enough oxygen available to fill a mask. In practice, this means the station acts as a gate in oxygen-poor areas: if the station cannot charge a mask, Duplicants will not move through it. This makes the building useful for controlling access to hazardous or unbreathable regions, especially when paired with infrastructure that supplies a reliable oxygen source.

Because the station depends on available oxygen, it should be placed where the mask-filling supply is stable. If oxygen production is interrupted or insufficient, the station can block movement instead of merely failing to help. That makes it important to route oxygen carefully when using it as part of a protected traversal setup.

  • Requires oxygen to function; without enough oxygen to fill a mask, Duplicants cannot pass.
  • Built from 50 kg of one of four ore types: Copper Ore, Aluminum Ore, Cobalt Ore, or Iron Ore.
  • Consumes a Worn Oxygen Mask as part of its construction.
  • Best used in areas where Duplicants need to move through oxygen-limited terrain while remaining protected.

The Oxygen Mask Station is therefore less a simple accessory and more a control point for mask-based access. When supplied properly, it supports safe travel through dangerous atmospheres; when starved of oxygen, it becomes an obstacle that halts passage entirely.
