Wire

Overview

Wire is a building used to create electrical connections between power-producing and power-consuming structures. In-game Wire links generators, Battery, and other buildings so that power generated can be delivered to machinery and storage devices. Placing Wire between electrical buildings establishes a contiguous power network that enables energy flow across the colony.

As a construction piece, Wire is the basic means of routing power from sources to loads. Use Wire to extend a generator's output into production areas, to connect Battery to the grid for energy buffering, and to tie multiple devices into the same circuit so they can draw or receive power. Wires can be laid to span distances and to form networks that include several generators and several loads; connecting Batteries to that network allows surplus energy to be stored and later supplied when generation drops.

  • Use Wire to connect generators to the rest of your electrical network.
  • Connect Battery to the network with Wire to store and redistribute power.
  • Run Wire to any building that requires electricity so it can receive power.
  • Plan wiring routes to reach all required buildings while minimizing unnecessary length.

Wire functions as the fundamental electrical backbone of your colony: proper placement ensures devices receive power and Batteries can smooth out supply variations from generators.
