Liquid Filter
Overview
Liquid Filter is a building that controls the routing of liquids that pass through it by excluding a single selected liquid from its output pipe. When a mixed liquid flow enters a Liquid Filter, every liquid present is forwarded into the building’s output pipe except for the one liquid type that has been chosen for filtering. The selected liquid is not sent into that output; all other liquids are routed to the output pipe.
The Liquid Filter is configured by selecting which liquid to filter. Once a liquid has been chosen, the filter will treat that liquid differently from the rest of the incoming mixture: the chosen type is excluded from the output stream while all remaining liquids are combined and emitted through the output connection. The building therefore acts as a single-type exclusion device within a pipe network rather than as an active storage container or purifier.
Practical usage and interactions:
- Use the Liquid Filter to separate a specific liquid from a mixed pipeline: pipe the mixed source into the filter and use the output pipe to carry away all non-selected liquids. The exclusion of the selected liquid lets you manage that liquid separately downstream.
- The filter requires a clear selection of which liquid to exclude. Reconfiguring the selected liquid changes which fluid will be withheld from the output and which fluids will be passed through.
- Place the Liquid Filter where you want unwanted or excess liquids to be redirected away from a main distribution line. The output pipe carries the combined stream of all non-selected liquids, so ensure downstream plumbing can handle the resulting mix.
- Because the device sends all non-selected liquids to its output, plan for situations where multiple different non-selected liquids may arrive simultaneously; they will share the same output flow.
- Combine Liquid Filters with valves, sinks, storage, or secondary routing to isolate the selected liquid after it has been excluded from the main output, or to direct excluded liquids into dedicated treatment or storage systems.
The Liquid Filter offers a simple, deterministic way to remove one specific liquid from a pipeline while passing all others through a single output. Its behavior is limited to routing decisions: it does not change the chemical or thermal properties of fluids, nor does it itself create separate outputs for each individual non-selected liquid.
