Overview

Bombulet is a pegboard-affecting relic that doubles the number of regular bombs present at the start of a level. When Bombulet is active, the pegboard spawns the normal count of bomb_regular pegs. This increase occurs during initial board generation and can replace any existing peg on the board, regardless of type.

Bombulet interacts predictably with other relics and effects that modify starting bombs. If a relic or effect adds bombs before Bombulet's doubling is applied, Bombulet will double the resulting total. For example, when combined with Bomb Baton (which adds three bombs to the starting board), Bombulet doubles after the Baton's addition, producing (b + 3) × 2 bombs, where b is the original number of bombs. Bombulet can also affect bombs introduced by other relics that alter starting bomb counts. However, Bombulet does not change the count of special "rigged" bombs produced by certain sources; those rigged bombs are counted separately and are not doubled by Bombulet.

Doubling the number of bombs increases both offensive potential and board clutter. Regular bombs deal high damage to enemies but also inflict self-damage when triggered, so Bombulet is best used when you can safely detonate many bombs or mitigate self-damage through health, healing, or protective effects. Because Bombulet replaces random pegs to add bombs, it can remove useful peg types (e.g., red/green/orange pegs) and affect planned ricochet or orb strategies.

Practical points:

  • Bombulet applies during initial board setup only; it does not create additional bombs mid-run unless another effect regenerates the starting board.
  • When stacking with relics that add bombs, calculate the final count as: take the total after all additive effects, then apply Bombulet's 2× multiplier (unless an effect explicitly creates bombs after doubling).
  • Bombulet can synergize with damage-amplifying or bomb-focused builds, increasing enemy burst potential.
  • Expect greater self-damage risk from more bombs; ensure sufficient HP or self-damage mitigation before relying on Bombulet-heavy strategies.
