Overview

Ballm is an orb in Peglin that creates specialized healing pegs when activated. It functions as a single-use effect that produces pegs which restore health upon being hit. Ballm is distinct from orbs that can be triggered multiple times through leveling; it must be used at the moment you want to maximize its peg count and benefit.

Ballm's healing pegs scale with peg value modifiers: each peg heals an additional 1 HP for every +10 applied to that peg's value and also for every -3 applied. Because of this interaction, Ballm pairs especially well with effects that change individual peg values or convert peg types. Bringing orbs or relics that upgrade pegs (to reach +10 thresholds) or downgrade pegs (to reach -3 thresholds) increases total healing yield from Ballm far beyond its base output.

Practical notes and strategy:

  • Time your Ballm use for boards where you can hit the largest number of pegs; Ballm does not grant repeat activations on subsequent turns unless another game effect explicitly reuses orbs.
  • Combine Ballm with peg-manipulating relics or orbs to push pegs over the +10 increments or down to -3 increments, since each such step adds +1 healing per peg.
  • Use peg-conversion effects to create many low-value pegs that can be downgraded into additional healing increments, or concentrate upgrades on fewer pegs to surpass +10 thresholds.
  • Prioritize Ballm in runs where sustain is critical and you can reliably aim for wide peg spreads or control peg values through other equipment.

Ballm is best employed as a planned heal burst rather than a reactive or repeatable utility; optimizing peg count and peg-value modifiers during the turn of activation yields the greatest benefit.
