Overview

Ballectrum is a relic obtained from the Golden Peglin Statue event described as a "radiant golden orb." When equipped, Ballectrum causes each ball to spawn additional golden multiballs the first time a peg is hit by that ball; these spawned multiballs remove the pegs they hit from the board. The multiballs themselves do not display intrinsic damage values, but they trigger relics and buffs that modify damage and can therefore become potent damage sources when combined with multipliers.

Ballectrum interacts strongly with effects that care about peg hits or count hits for damage multipliers. Removed pegs still count toward relics that multiply damage based on pegs hit, so Ballectrum synergizes with items that reward high peg-hit counts. Because each initial peg contact produces many fast multiballs, Ballectrum reliably produces a high rate of peg hits over a short period, enabling powerful combos with certain relics and status effects.

  • Best synergies include relics that scale with hit frequency or give large bonuses per peg hit, such as Popping Corn, Mental Mantle, and Infernal Ingot. These relics convert Ballectrum’s many quick hits into substantial damage.
  • Ballectrum works well with Bag of Orange Pegs because pegs removed by the multiballs still contribute to that relic’s damage multiplier.
  • Ballectrum has no starting damage stat of its own, so taking relics that would normally reduce your base stats can be viable if those relics offer very strong effects (for example, items that trade stats for explosive effects).
  • Ballectrum pairs poorly with relics that introduce significant random multiplicative downsides on multiballs. For instance, Weighted Chip is a risky combination: all gold multiballs falling into a x2 hole can produce massive damage, but falling into a x0.5 hole can reduce damage dramatically. Avoid combinations that multiply variance across many spawned balls unless you can control outcomes.
  • The multiball effect only triggers the first time a peg is hit by a given ball. In setups where pegs would be hit multiple times in the same shot (for example, with Gift That Keeps Giving), Ballectrum’s spawn triggers only on the first contact per ball.

Use Ballectrum when you can capitalize on many rapid peg hits and when you have relics or buffs that convert hit count into reliable damage. Avoid pairings that amplify the multiballs’ randomness or that rely on single high base-damage balls rather than many small hits. The item’s name is a portmanteau of “ball” and electrum (an alloy of gold and silver), reflecting its golden, multiball nature.
