Ballanx

Ballanx is an offensive Orb introduced in version v0.9.01 that rapidly levels up and specializes in dealing high single-target damage with a built-in splash effect to nearby foes. It attacks the targeted column and applies damage across enemies grouped in that column, making it particularly effective in rooms with clustered enemies such as the Castle area and against multi-target bosses like the Qaballistic Ruins boss. An unknown update later increased Ballanx's damage values.

Ballanx's design emphasizes straightforward damage scaling rather than complex synergies or conditional effects. It benefits most from upgrades and relics that increase raw damage or that repeatedly bolster an Orb’s power over time. Recommended relics include Gift That Keeps Giving and Electropegnet, both of which amplify Ballanx's already fast growth and overall damage output. Ballanx inherently provides splash damage to the column it targets and therefore does not receive any additional benefit from the Alien's Rock relic.

Practical notes for use:

• Prioritize leveling Ballanx quickly so it reaches its high damage thresholds as early as possible in a run.
• Place Ballanx where it will repeatedly hit grouped enemies; map awareness and targeting the densest column maximize value.
• Stack damage-increasing relics and effects rather than searching for niche synergies; direct damage bonuses scale most effectively.
• Because Ballanx already applies column-wide splash, avoid investing in relics that grant splash as their benefit if you have limited relic slots.
