Overview

Bob-Orb is an orb encountered in Peglin. It appears as a small spherical orb whose sprite bears a superficial resemblance to an eye. The orb is named as a probable reference to the Bob-omb enemies from the Mario franchise. Bob-Orb was introduced in the game's Beta, later reworked and added to the demo in v0.6.18; during Early Access its damage was reduced to zero and its upgrade behavior was reworked.

Bob-Orb deals 0 base damage and shows 0/0 damage values in-game. Unlike effects that explicitly forbid dealing damage, Bob-Orb can receive offensive buffs and relic-based damage scaling; it therefore interacts with items and relics that increase orb damage or otherwise convert non-damaging effects into damage. Because its inherent damage is zero, Bob-Orb is primarily useful only when the player has relics or temporary buffs that grant damage to orbs (for example, items that add flat damage to orbs or multiply orb damage).

  • Because it deals no damage by itself, it is often best to skip Bob-Orb unless your build includes reliable ways to convert or augment orb damage.
  • Bob-Orb does not carry an explicit "Deals no damage!" status that prevents buffing; offensive relics and buffs will strengthen it.
  • Plan deck and relic choices around whether you can make use of orbs with zero base damage before selecting or accepting Bob-Orb.
