Overview

Duplication Station is a relic that grants periodic Multiball layers to the next orb you fire. It counts your shots and every fixed number of shots it adds +1 Multiball to the orb you launch on that shot. The counter is displayed as a numerical badge over the relic icon while it is adjacent to your other relics, and the shot count persists between encounters (the next fight continues from the current count). The relic does not trigger during overworld navigation.

The game files define the effect as: every [MULTIBALL_X_SHOTS] shots, start with +1 Multiball (日本語表記: 「[MULTIBALL_X_SHOTS]発射毎に『マルチボール:1』を当該オーブに付与する。」 / 한국어 표기: 샷을 [MULTIBALL_X_SHOTS]번 할 때마다 +1 멀티볼로 시작합니다. / 简体中文: 每第 [MULTIBALL_X_SHOTS] 次发射时,获得 1 层分裂效果). Since v0.9.22 the relic has been available; in v0.9.25 its interactions were expanded to work with the Summoning Circle so the first orb summoned by that device also receives the extra Multiball.

Duplication Station is especially valuable in builds that rely on Multiball stacking or on orb effects that trigger on peg hits. Multiball multiplies the number of orbs that make contact, which amplifies damage, pierce progression, and any on-hit secondary effects. Applying this relic to orbs that already have Multiball significantly increases output (for example, Multiball +1 applied to an orb that already splits effectively multiplies total projectiles). It pairs exceptionally well with Matryoshka Shell and with effects that benefit from multiple simultaneous orbs such as Bob-Orb and Protectorb.

Practical notes and strategy:

  • The relic’s counter carries across combats; managing your shot timing before boss fights or high-value boards lets you maximize when the Multiball procs.
  • Because the relic does not activate during navigation, only in combat shots count toward its threshold.
  • Combining Duplication Station with Matryoshka Shell or other Multiball sources can produce very large burst clears; Multiball levels stack multiplicatively in practical terms (Multiball 2 behaves like four projectiles from an initial two).
  • A healthy amount of Refresh (orb bounces) helps make the produced extra orbs more effective for board clearing, especially before piercing becomes dominant.
  • The relic synergizes strongly with on-hit peg effects and summons; since v0.9.25 it also grants the Summoning Circle’s first summoned orb the extra Multiball.
