Protectorb

Overview

Practical usage and interactions:
Protectorb grants Ballwark when it is hit; the amount scales with the orb’s level following the v0.9.52 change. Use multiple Protectorbs or level upgrades to increase Ballwark output.
Protectorb does not damage enemies directly; rely on triggered peg effects (bombs, other activated peg mechanics) or other damaging orbs to finish encounters.
- Bomb pegs and similar devices that activate when struck will still trigger when
Protectorb hits them, and those triggered effects will deal their normal damage even though
Protectorb is non-damaging.
- Relics that increase the number of pegs hit or otherwise amplify peg interactions are strong with
Protectorb.
Gift That Keeps Giving and
Matryoshka Shell are particularly effective because they increase the number of pegs struck, thereby generating more Ballwark.
Protectorb synergizes with Balladin builds that convert Ballwark into Muscircle. With
Training Tabard (also called
Balladroit in some sources) that grants 1 Muscircle per 10 Ballwark,
Protectorb becomes a reliable Muscircle source when played as Balladin.
- Activated pegs from consumables such as
Defresh Potion do not grant Ballwark when hit by
Protectorb; only naturally struck pegs count for Ballwark generation.
- Because
Protectorb’s output is non-damaging, pair it with other offensive tools (damage orbs, damaging relics, or peg bombs) to ensure consistent clears while using
Protectorb for defense and build synergies.
