Glass Half Ball

glass-half-ball

Overview

Glass Half Ball is an orb in Peglin introduced in v0.9.47. Its name alludes to the "glass half empty or half full" idiom and it interacts with the Transpherency mechanic: the orb applies Transpherency when it strikes enemies and (after later updates) applies Transpherency on draw.

Glass Half Ball deals standard orb damage but carries a Transpherency effect rather than larger raw damage. The orb's theme is that it can "pierce" enemies for reduced damage while imposing transparency-related debuffs rather than maximizing single-hit burst. It does not grant Transpherency 5; its Transpherency application is significant but capped below that specific value.

Gameplay notes and interactions:

  • On hit, Glass Half Ball applies Transpherency to the struck enemy. The strength of Transpherency on hit has been increased in updates since its introduction.
  • After the Act 4 update, Glass Half Ball applies Transpherency to all enemies at the moment it is drawn, providing immediate utility even before it is launched.
  • Use Glass Half Ball in builds that prioritize status stacking or combos that benefit from Transpherency rather than pure damage output. Its value rises in fights where reducing enemy defenses or enabling follow-up effects via Transpherency is important.
  • Combine with synergies that trigger on enemy status or that capitalize on already-weakened foes to get more value than raw-damage orbs.
  • Remember that although its flavor suggests a "half" effect, the orb does not set Transpherency to 5 and will not by itself reach that explicit threshold.
