Orbrasion

orbrasion

Overview

Orbrasion is an offensive orb in Peglin that deals damage to all enemies in a radial pattern while also inflicting self-damage to the player. It was introduced in v0.9.01 and received an update in v0.9.52 that altered how its self-damage scales: the orb now triggers on fewer peg hits but reduces self-damage based on the orb's current level. The name is a play on the word "abrasion," reflecting the orb's tendency to wound both foes and its user.

Orbrasion's damage output applies to all enemies hit by its projectiles, and the amount of self-damage is determined by how many pegs the shots strike. Because of this mechanic, a single use can consume a large portion — or all — of the player's health if many pegs are hit. The orb synergizes particularly well with effects that grant Muscircle (additional bounce or hit multiplicity), making it more effective at spreading damage among multiple targets; Training Weight is a notable relic that pairs strongly with Orbrasion. Given the self-damage risk, players should include reliable healing sources before deploying this orb to avoid fatal recoil.

Practical notes and interactions:

  • Self-damage scales with the number of pegs struck; more peg hits increase damage to both enemies and the player.
  • Upgrading the orb reduces self-damage per the v0.9.52 change, and it now activates on fewer peg hits than at launch.
  • Combine Orbrasion with Muscircle-granting relics (for example, Training Weight) to maximize enemy coverage and total damage dealt.
  • Always plan for healing (potions, relics, or other means) when using Orbrasion to mitigate the orb's recoil and preserve survivability.
