Memorb
Overview
Memorb is a rare orb-type trinket that increases its damage output based on how many pegs the ball hits during a single shot. The name is a portmanteau of "memory" and "orb," and its effect rewards peg-dense shots by adding bonus damage that scales with the count of pegs struck. Memorb appears as a collectible modifier item and functions alongside other offensive trinkets and orb effects.
Memorb’s bonus damage increases as more pegs are hit in one shot; this makes it most effective on shots that ricochet through clusters of pegs or when used with shots that travel long paths and contact many targets. Its scaling is applied as extra damage per shot rather than repeating or multiplying over time, so the benefit is tied to individual high-hit plays rather than sustained multi-shot accumulation.
Memorb is sometimes compared to Echo because both scale with peg interactions, but they operate differently: Echo produces repeated effects tied to the original impact, while Memorb directly increases the damage of the shot according to the number of pegs hit.
Practical notes for use:
- Prioritize angles and bounces that maximize peg contacts in one ball trajectory to get the most from Memorb.
- Pair Memorb with balls and modifiers that encourage longer travel or more bounces (for example, high-ricochet shots or items that spread pegs) to increase hit counts.
- Memorb’s bonus damage values have changed during development; its bonus-per-peg scaling was increased in post-release balancing patches to strengthen its reward for multi-hit shots.
- Memorb synergizes well with other single-shot damage multipliers but yields diminishing marginal returns if combined with effects that already convert hits into repeated small impacts rather than one larger hit.
