Overview

Horriball is a special orb that can appear in the player’s deck. It has an unusually large hitbox compared with other orbs, allowing it to strike more pegs when launched. Despite this potential for multi-peg contact, Horriball deals very low damage, comparable to the Bob-Orb family, which limits its early- to mid-game usefulness. The orb’s base stats were standardized to 0/0 in v1.0.6; it was introduced in v0.9.54 alongside new Cruciball levels.

Horriball interacts with deck composition and duplication in important ways. The orb cannot be removed from the deck by normal means once it is present, so duplicating Horriball is not recommended because additional copies permanently dilute a player’s deck and weaken deck-thinning strategies. Certain events (for example, the Strange Mirror) can force a Horriball into the deck even if the player does not choose it.

Practical notes and strategy:

  • The large hitbox makes Horriball most effective in late runs where peg density or multi-peg rewards make low per-hit damage still worthwhile through sheer number of contacts.
  • Horriball is poor for early deck synergy that relies on individual orb power or burst damage; treat it as a utility orb for clearing clusters rather than a primary damage source.
  • Avoid cards or effects that duplicate Horriball unless the build specifically benefits from many low-damage area-contact orbs.
  • Because Horriball cannot be removed once present, plan around its permanent presence: include draw, filtering, or stronger orb generation to compensate for the permanent deck slot.
  • Historically, Horriball’s damage was higher in experimental builds (it functioned as a 1/1 and could be made a 2/3 via certain interactions), which prompted the current lower baseline to preserve game balance.

The name “Horriball” is a pun on “horrible,” reflecting its negative impact on deck-thinning despite its occasional tactical value for hitting many pegs at once.
