Glorious SuffeRing

Glorious SuffeRing is a boss relic that upgrades every activated peg each time an orb passes over it while reducing all orb damage and critical damage. When equipped, any peg that an activated orb touches receives a permanent damage upgrade of +{[ALL_ORBS_BUFF_AMOUNT]}. As a trade-off, every orb’s normal damage and crit damage are decreased by {[ALL_ORBS_BUFF_DMG_RED]}/{[ALL_ORBS_BUFF_CRIT_RED]}. Pegs hit during Navigation are also affected by the relic’s upgrade.

The relic is introduced in the Beta and remained in the Early Access release and demo builds, becoming part of the main game. Its core design turns transient orb interactions into long-term board advantage: repeated passes over the same pegs rapidly increase their durability and damage contribution, while individual orb hits become weaker until those upgrades accumulate.

Practical usage and interactions:

• Orbs that deal no damage or start with 0/0 stats avoid the downside entirely and are ideal carriers for upgrades. Examples include Protectorb and Bob-Orb. Reforbisher pairs especially well because it increases the number of upgrades applied to each peg per activation.
• Swoltorb can function like Reforbisher while still dealing damage, but Swoltorb’s effectiveness may be unreliable early due to the relic’s flat damage reductions.
• Orbsium applies multiple upgrades on every peg it hits and therefore escalates the relic’s benefit quickly.
• Counteract the initial damage penalty with relics or items that boost orb power such as Power Glove, Arccentuate, or Ballad.
• Bomb-focused strategies pair well with Glorious SuffeRing because bombs provide large numbers of pops per turn. Orbs that concentrate on bombs—such as Necorbmancer or Concentrication—amplify upgrade application. Enhanced Gunpowder applies the upgrade effect to pegs popped by bomb explosions.
• The Gift That Keeps Giving synergizes strongly by turning many pegs durable, allowing a single orb to apply more upgrades in one turn.
• Slime builds are a natural fit when using orbs like Generatorb or Twooze Company together with relics such as A Good Slime and Prime Slime; the increased peg durability from slimes lets upgrades stack efficiently.
• Multiball effects increase the frequency of peg hits and therefore speed up upgrade accumulation.
• Morbid-style effects (for example from Morbidorb or Defresh Potion) that add extra upgrades to popped pegs are especially powerful with Glorious SuffeRing because the relic will apply the additional +2 upgrade when a popped peg is passed over.

Deployment note: prioritize ways to generate many peg passes per turn and methods to offset the immediate damage reduction. Over the course of a run, Glorious SuffeRing transforms weaker individual orb hits into a board that deals progressively higher damage as pegs accumulate upgrades.
