Splatorb

Splatorb is an orb that applies slime effects and can be especially valuable in slime-focused builds. It was introduced in the demo release, later received reworded effect text in the beta, and gained additional demo effects in v0.6.18. At some later point, its artwork was updated as well.

Its main advantage is speed: across all Levels on average, Splatorb applies its slime effect faster than any other orb. That makes it the best orb to pair with A Good Slime when the goal is to stack slime reliably and early. Because it reaches its slime application quickly, it helps a slime build become functional sooner and more consistently than slower alternatives.

Splatorb’s Rubber Slime effect also has a strong practical use outside pure damage scaling. Rubber Slime can keep orbs in flight for longer, which gives you more time to continue bouncing and build value from each launch. This makes Splatorb a useful companion for relics such as Pocketwatch and Mental Mantle, since the extra airtime helps capitalize on effects that reward extended orb movement and longer turns.

In practice, Splatorb is most appealing when your build wants repeated slime application rather than raw burst damage. It is particularly efficient in runs that already have support for slime synergy, because its speed lets those synergies come online quickly. If your relics or other orb choices benefit from longer orb flight, Splatorb can also serve as a consistent enabler rather than just a damage source.
