Overview

Enhanced Gunpowder is a relic that modifies the behavior of bomb pegs in Peglin. When a bomb peg is detonated, Enhanced Gunpowder activates nearby pegs, causing them to trigger as if they had been hit. This creates local chain reactions around bomb explosions and amplifies the immediate board impact of bomb pegs.

This relic appears from the demo build onward and has had minor fixes in later versions (notably reported in v0.7.45). Its effect is described consistently across game files and localized sources: detonating a bomb will activate surrounding pegs.

Enhanced Gunpowder is primarily used to turn individual bomb detonations into multi-peg bursts that can dramatically increase damage and crowd control when built around a bomb-focused run. The activated pegs are counted toward the current orb’s damage calculation, so chaining multiple peg activations from a single bomb can produce very large orb hit numbers.

  • Pair Enhanced Gunpowder with bomb-boosting relics such as Alchemist's Cookbook, Improved Catalyst, and Short Fuse to maximize damage output; these combinations turn bombs into some of the most powerful offensive tools available.
  • Most other bomb-related relics and effects synergize well, further increasing chain reactions and board clear potential.
  • Refreshing Punch interacts with Refresh Pegs to give them the same activation behavior when bombs detonate, expanding chain-reaction setups beyond standard pegs.
  • Combining Enhanced Gunpowder with effects that increase the number or potency of bombs (or increase orb damage per peg) yields the most consistent high-damage results.

Use Enhanced Gunpowder when your build aims to capitalize on localized explosions and peg activations rather than single-target direct damage from orbs alone. It excels on levels where bombs can reach groups of clustered pegs and where follow-up modifiers amplify the triggered pegs’ contribution to orb damage.
