Ohmygorb!

Overview

Ohmygorb! is a relic that destroys every peg on the board when triggered. It removes pegs rather than dealing conventional peg damage, which makes it interact uniquely with peg-based mechanics and other relics. The relic name is a play on the phrase "oh my god!".

Because Ohmygorb! removes pegs directly, bombs hit by its effect are treated as "destroyed" rather than detonated; this means triggering Ohmygorb! on a board with many bombs can reduce the total damage output unless bombs are grouped so a single destruction removes several at once. Ohmygorb! still increments counters that rely on pegs being removed: pegs removed via Ohmygorb! count toward Bag of Orange Pegs and thus can lock in a damage multiplier for all future Orbs fired.

Ohmygorb! pairs strongly with effects and relics that grant damage independent of remaining pegs. Recommended synergies include Ambiguous Amulet and Pocketwatch, which ensure consistent damage even when the board is cleared. The effects of Enhanced Gunpowder and Refreshing Punch do not destroy pegs they affect, so combining them with Ohmygorb! lets the player gain extra damage or other bonuses without sacrificing peg count prematurely. Ohmygorb! also functions well in no-refresh builds alongside Consuming Chalice; however, using it with Consuming Chalice makes Morbid largely redundant because both approaches capitalize on peg removal for scaling damage.

Take care when building around Ohmygorb! because it can create a softlock: if the run has no means to refresh the board or deal non-peg damage, destroying every peg with Ohmygorb! can leave the player unable to progress. To avoid this, include at least one refresh source or a relic/ability that deals damage without relying on pegs.

Practical notes:

  • Bombs hit by Ohmygorb! are considered destroyed, so cluster bombs together when possible or avoid overreliance on bomb damage.
  • Use Ohmygorb! to quickly fill Bag of Orange Pegs counters and secure permanent multipliers for future Orbs.
  • Combine with non-peg damage relics (Ambiguous Amulet, Pocketwatch) or with effects that don’t destroy pegs (Enhanced Gunpowder, Refreshing Punch).
  • Avoid builds with no refresh/non-peg damage options to prevent softlocking the run.
