OffeRing
Overview
OffeRing is a Peglin orb that deals strong piercing damage but inflicts self-damage based on the number of enemies hit. It appears as an offensive option designed to trade some of the player's HP for high single-use board clear and value against clustered foes. OffeRing interacts directly with enemy placement because its piercing effect lets one cast damage pass through multiple targets in a line, making it especially potent on levels with tightly grouped enemies or long lanes.
Because OffeRing damages the caster for each enemy hit, it is intended for builds that can absorb or mitigate self-inflicted wounds. Typical successful synergies include high-HP characters, relics or items that restore HP on hit, and shields such as Ballwark that block or reduce incoming self-damage. OffeRing can also be integrated into self-damage–focused strategies that deliberately trigger effects tied to taking damage (for example, effects that scale with damage taken or that produce powerful returns when the player is hurt).
- Use OffeRing when multiple enemies line up; its piercing makes it far more efficient than single-target or non-piercing orbs for lane clearing.
- Prioritize HP sources or defensive mechanics before relying on OffeRing repeatedly; unchecked self-damage quickly becomes fatal.
- Combine with Ballwark or other damage-mitigation tools to neutralize the recoil cost while retaining the orb’s offensive power.
- Consider OffeRing in builds that benefit from self-inflicted damage or in runs where healing and shields are plentiful, since its tradeoff is more tolerable in those contexts.
