Consolation Prize

Consolation Prize is a relic that appears in Peglin as a fallback reward when the game has no other eligible relics to offer. It has no active mechanical interface beyond its flavor text — selecting it grants the relic itself and displays the short effect line "Do you feel consoled?" (localized in Japanese as "気分はラクになった？", Korean as "위로가 좀 되시려나요?", and Simplified Chinese as "你感觉好些了吗？"). The Consolation Prize was introduced in the Demo release.

The Consolation Prize only appears under a very specific condition: when a run is started with every relic that the game can offer already equipped on the player. In that case the relic pool offers the Consolation Prize along with two other options that are visually present but unselectable; those ghost options show no description when highlighted and use the Enhanced Gunpowder icon. If the game is started with all but one or two of the offerable relics equipped, attempting to open the relic offer can crash the game.

Consolation Prize is unique among relics in that, without modifying the game, it is the only relic the player can possess multiple copies of. The item carries a tongue-in-cheek connotation consistent with its name: it functions as a placeholder reward when no normal prize can be given.
