Critsoballos

Overview

Critsoballos is an orb in Peglin that focuses on dealing critical-hit damage rather than high base damage. Its design rewards builds and relics that generate or force critical pegs, making it situational but powerful in the right deck composition. The orb received a rework and new sprite in an unknown version, which updated its visual presentation and some behaviors tied to crit mechanics.

Critsoballos has low base damage for an orb whose value comes primarily from landing critical hits. As a result, it is only consistently viable when paired with other cards and relics that reliably trigger or generate Critical Pegs. The orb excels when its crit chance is amplified or when your draw/discard pattern produces frequent opportunities for guaranteed or repeated crits.

Practical use and synergies:

  • Pair with Critical Peg generators such as Au Auger or Critikris to create frequent crit opportunities; these are core synergies when Critical Pegs are otherwise sparse.
  • Works in Spinesse-style builds that struggle to get strong single-orb damage; Critsoballos can supply burst damage through crits when the rest of the build focuses on crit generation or repeat triggers.
  • Ambidextionary is especially valuable once Critsoballos reaches level 2 and gains the guaranteed-crit-on-discard trait. The extra ease of triggering crits pairs well with high-crit-damage orbs such as Daggorb, Allorbnothing, or piercing orbs like Icircle.
  • Pseudo-multiball effects from Duplication Station or Summoning Circle increase the number of times Critsoballos can hit in a turn, multiplying crit occurrences and amplifying interactions with crit-focused relics.
  • Because its base damage is weak, avoid using Critsoballos in builds lacking crit generation or in decks that cannot reliably discard or duplicate it to force crits.

Deployment notes:

  • Leveling Critsoballos to gain guaranteed crit-on-discard is a meaningful power spike that shifts how you plan turn sequencing and relic choices.
  • Treat the orb as a complementary burst tool rather than a primary damage source unless your deck is explicitly built around crit mechanics.
  • Favor relics and cards that increase crit frequency, duplication, or discard interactions to unlock the orb’s potential.
