Overview

Jupitorb is an offensive orb in Peglin that fires a primary projectile and emits multiple secondary laser shots that pierce through all pegs. It occupies a similar niche to Ball Lightning but emphasizes multi-target damage through its laser effect rather than single high-damage hits. The orb has relatively low base stats on its primary hit, but its secondary lasers allow it to strike many pegs both directly and indirectly, enabling rapid stacked damage across the board.

Jupitorb excels at clearing awkward peg arrangements and reaching Bombs or Refresh Pegs that are otherwise difficult to access. Because each laser can hit multiple pegs, the orb synergizes strongly with effects that increase per-orb damage or add extra on-orb power: stat buffs such as Muscircle and Spinesse and relics like Power Glove amplify the overall value of each cast more than they would for single-target orbs. Its piercing lasers mean the attack passes through every peg in its path, making Jupitorb functionally more effective than Ball Lightning in many situations where multi-pegged penetration is desirable.

The laser component of Jupitorb does not trigger on-hit effects that require a standard hit event; effects such as Powder Collector and Mental Mantle do not count those laser strikes as on-hit procs. This distinction is important when building around on-hit mechanics versus raw multi-target damage.

Practical notes and tactics:

  • Use Jupitorb to clear clusters and empty lanes to position future shots or to detonate Bombs and trigger Refresh Pegs that are tucked behind other pegs.
  • Stack orb-damage buffs and relics that increase orb power to multiply the utility of the lasers, since each buff applies to every laser strike.
  • Treat Jupitorb as a pierce-based area-clear tool rather than a source of on-hit procs; do not rely on it to trigger Powder Collector, Mental Mantle, or similar on-hit dependent effects.
  • Consider Jupitorb a straightforward upgrade to Ball Lightning in runs that favor piercing, multi-target damage and that lack reliance on on-hit triggers.

Jupitorb’s visual design references the game Jupiter Moons: Mecha. The orb’s effect was reworked in v0.7.20 and it was present in the demo release.
