Hero's Backpack

Overview

The formula implemented in game files expresses the bonus as +{[BP_ADJ_DMG]}/+{[BP_ADJ_CRIT]} for each following connected same-type orb. Japanese, Korean, and Chinese localizations describe the same adjacency mechanic: each orb gains the listed stat increases for every adjacent identical orb within the magazine.

Practical interactions and strategic notes:
- Duplicate events are high-value: choosing options that duplicate multiple orbs generally raises the probability of longer consecutive runs and larger buffs, though duplicating everything can also introduce additional orb types that interrupt chains.
- Remove events usually favor removing a single disruptive orb to preserve or extend an existing chain rather than clearing many and breaking potential sequences.
- Synergies with orbelisk and stone/pebball strategies are powerful: having many stones (or high-level orbelisks that spawn stones) multiplies the benefit because stones both benefit from the Backpack buff and contribute additional separate damage sources. Level 2 orbelisk with bouldorb can also work, but stones are easier to obtain and can hit flying enemies.
- After v1.0.6 the relic no longer buffs Pebballs, so builds that rely primarily on Pebballs receive less benefit; prioritize non-Pebball orb types when planning around this relic.
- The relic rewards deliberate magazine management—deck choices, event selections, and items that clone or filter orbs are the primary ways to maximize value.
