Overview

Pebball is a basic orb in Peglin that represents a small stone projectile. It was introduced in the Demo as "Stone" and was renamed to Pebball in v0.9.22. Pebballs are common early-game pegs the player starts with, but they have below-average raw stats compared to other orb types and scale poorly once the Cruciball mode becomes dominant in later runs.

Pebballs do not appear as post-battle drops from the Peglin vendor and cannot be purchased; they are obtainable only through specific events. Those same event pools also include options that can remove Pebballs, so their presence in a run is tied to event outcomes rather than normal rewards.

Because their base damage and scaling are weak, Pebballs are generally considered orbs to remove when stronger alternatives become available. There are, however, a few interactions and situations where Pebballs gain situational value:

  • The Suffer the Sling relic improves Pebballs enough that, if taken early, they become slightly better than average, though they still fall short of top-tier orbs like the Sworb.
  • Starting runs include multiple Pebballs, which makes them synergize with relics that buff repeated orb types. In particular, Hero's Backpack increases damage for each identical orb that appears in a row, making an initial cluster of Pebballs more effective.
  • Orbelisk scales with the number of orbs of the same type; combining several Pebballs with an Orbelisk—especially a Level 2 or 3 Orbelisk—can turn otherwise weak Pebballs into a meaningful damage source.

Practical guidance: remove Pebballs when you can replace them with stronger or more versatile orbs unless you obtain the Suffer the Sling relic early, stack multiple Pebballs alongside Hero's Backpack, or plan to invest in Orbelisk upgrades. Their limited availability outside the starting set and events means that relying on Pebballs as a long-term strategy requires deliberately seeking specific relics or synergies.
