Overview

Electropegnet is a boss relic that grants a temporary Magnet effect when acquired, altering how the ball interacts with pegs to produce burst damage at the cost of longer-term navigation control. Its effect attracts nearby pegs toward the ball for a short duration, allowing rapid multi-peg hits and greatly increasing damage output during that window. The relic first appeared in the Demo release and has been reworked and balanced multiple times across updates; it became a Boss Relic during the v0.5.41 overhaul.

Electropegnet is best used in runs that can capitalize on concentrated burst windows rather than careful, long-term peg clearing. The ability to pull multiple pegs into the ball removes much of the usual shot-planning: instead of aiming for long sequences or precise bounces, the player can trigger the Magnet effect to convert nearby pins into immediate damage. Because the effect lasts only a few seconds, timing it around dense peg clusters, damage multipliers, or boss vulnerabilities yields the most benefit. Updates in v0.7.20 increased both durations by one second, slightly lengthening each burst window compared to earlier, shorter nerfed versions (the Magnet effect was substantially stronger in very early builds but was reduced in subsequent patches).

Practical notes and interactions:

  • Use Electropegnet when the board still contains tight groups of pegs or when a boss exposes weak points; the relic excels at converting local density into rapid damage.
  • The relic can make end-of-round navigation difficult if the player fails to clear enough pegs during the Magnet window, leaving awkward scatter for subsequent shots.
  • Because it reduces the value of meticulous pre-shot planning, players who prefer reactive, area-focused playstyles gain more from Electropegnet than those who rely on long planned combos.
  • Electropegnet’s name is a portmanteau of "electromagnet" and "peg," reflecting its core mechanic of magnetic attraction.
