Overview

Qaballistic Ruins is a multi-part boss enemy made up of four ruin segments. It was introduced in Early Access and was renamed to Qaballistic Ruins in v0.7.42. Later updates also increased its damage and healing scaling, and v0.9.58 further increased the healing modifier tied to Muscircle.

These strange devices are not constructed machinery, but a natural formation and defense mechanism of Radia itself. They attack once per turn and cycle clockwise, with turns resolving in the order bottom left, top left, bottom right, then top right.

Each segment’s color determines its action:

  • Red ruins perform a ranged attack that deals damage.
  • Purple ruins grant all remaining ruins +1 Muscircle.
  • Blue ruins heal all ruins for 50 health if they have been damaged; otherwise, they use the same ranged attack as the red ruins.

Their damage and healing both scale with Muscircle. In addition, when one ruin is defeated, the remaining piece gains +2 Muscircle. The blue ruin’s healing is especially dangerous when the formation has taken damage, since it can restore the whole boss at once.

The usual advice is to concentrate damage and eliminate individual ruins as quickly as possible rather than spreading attacks across the whole formation. The purple ruin is the most important early target, since removing it prevents the boss from powering up the rest of the fight and makes the encounter much easier.

Orbs with wide or piercing coverage are especially useful because they can hit multiple segments in one shot. Good examples include:

  • Ball Lightning, which can hit two segments at once on a crit
  • Orbelisk, though it can be risky if your deck is not built to support it
  • Bouldorb, which can strike the bottom two segments together
  • Poltorbgeist, which can hit all four segments and is especially effective on the map where this battle appears
  • Other piercing or targeting orbs, which also perform well

Overwhammer can help, but it requires one ruin to be destroyed while another is behind it, so it is more situational.
