Overview

Crevice Webber is a mutated spider enemy that appears in deep cavern biomes near the planet's core. It is a variant of the standard Webber found in forested tunnels but produces three times as much silk as its forest counterparts. The increased silk output and its habitat tie it to the mineral-rich environment of the crevices; Crevice Webbers derive nourishment from mine crystals rather than conventional prey and are known to attack passing peglins seemingly for amusement rather than hunger.

In gameplay, Crevice Webbers behave like other Webber-class enemies but present a greater threat due to their prolific silk production. The large amount of silk they generate increases the likelihood of slowed movement, trap creation, or other silk-based hazards on a board or in an encounter where webbing mechanics apply. They are typically encountered in tunnels near the planetary core and are part of the deeper, more dangerous fauna introduced in early access.

Practical notes for dealing with Crevice Webbers:

  • Prioritize eliminating them quickly to prevent extensive webbing that can restrict movement or funnel shots.
  • Area-clearing or splash damage abilities reduce the impact of multiple silk threads more effectively than single-target attacks.
  • Because these spiders do not rely on conventional feeding and instead draw sustenance from crystals, environmental control (clearing nearby crystals when possible) can reduce long-term hazards in an area where many Crevice Webbers spawn.
  • Treat Crevice Webbers like higher-threat Webber variants: expect greater board control implications even if their raw health or attack values are similar to the standard Webber.
